Emotional Support

Emotional Support

So, things were slow in the agency. So slow, I decided to take some courses on After Effects and up my game on animation. What could it hurt? 80 hours of tedious learning about timeframes, null objects, rigging, output codecs and other minutia that will put you in a mild coma. That being said, I got a certificate out of the deal for 24 hours studying the magical spells of this Adobe program (that didn’t count the constant rewinding and practicing part of the sessions).

My creative director, recognizing that I had gone through this laborious effort to stay awake during the slow times, decided to sidle up to my desk and quietly ask some interesting questions such as, “If you had the art, would you be able to animate the characters doing various actions?”

Not sure how to react (and contemplating calling HR), I said “Sure?”

Below, is some first fruits of this education helping demonstrate being emotionally supportive to others. I just wish we had budget for soundbeds.
